Tribe's stands for justice

It’s been three months that the ‘Nilpsamaram’ has started in front of the Secretariat of Kerala lead by CK Janu for the basic rights of the tribal people in Kerala. The government’s approach towards the protecting the tribal and their rights is very pathetic. The history of tribal protests are not just began a day. It has been yelling many years yet the question is why the civic society and the system turn down their protests.
The promises declared by the A.K Antony government in 2001, to rehabilitate the landless tribes, including the lands of the tribes to ‘Anjaam pattika’ to protect the lands as scheduled cast area, to end the ‘Panchayathiraj’ rule in the ‘Aadivasi Ooru’ and to distribute the rightful shares of the forest area, are still tangled in the bureaucratic red tapes. The continuous conversations between the government and the leaders of the tribes were resulted in sheer failure. The government is still kidding the tribes by saying they have to learn law related to the issue.
Even the media it also least bothered about their pathetic situation, is it because that they are tribal? The social networking sites had been a blessing to them. It keeps the strike alive. Though the government is careless towards the strike, they are still strong as they got great supports from social media, youngsters, students and the organizations like ‘Jwala’.  The strike can be seen as a follow up of  ‘Kudiketti Samaram’ odf 2001. The truth is none of the political parties have come forth to support the strike. It’s a great effort from the part of celebrities like Aashiq Abu, Mythili, to show solidarity in a social problem like this. Confusion is that the whether the media give prominence to the celebrities or the tribes who fight for their rights. They hope that all the problems will have come to an end by coming October.
